PERFORM EVERY SIX MONTHS

1. Inspect the cone screws (and nylon bushings on No.4 and 6 sharpeners) in the rocker arm head. Always remove only one cone screw at a time and replace before removing another.

Re-torque all cone screws according to procedure in Frequently asked questions No. 5.

2. Inspect post bracket shoes and saw carriage slides. Worn slides and shoes should be ground flat, turned over or replaced.

3. Check gate and hold down roller assembly. Gate cone screws should be inspected for looseness and wear. Hold down rollers should turn freely and the spring should hold them flat and firmly against the saw. Over-tightening either the bolt or cap screw in the hold down carriage may cause the spring to collapse and not work properly.

4. Check ALL bearings for wear.
