Armstrong's new CNC circular saw Topper/Facer is designed to grind the tops and faces of triple chip, variable pitch and alternating top or face . An industrial-grade Pentium� computer and touch screen interface give the operator complete control of all functions. Grinding parameters for up to 14 saws, 6" (150 mm) to 36" (915 mm) diameter, can be stored in memory for instant set-ups.
A 1.5 hp (1 kW) motor powers a CBN or diamond wheel while the 2,200 lbs (1,000 Kgs) of machine mass assures stability even in less-than-ideal environments. The number of grinding passes, the amount of stock removed on each pass, and the wheel feed rate are just a few of the choices available to the operator. Ball screws, brushless servo motors, and replaceable slides assure years of precision performance.

Safety and easy maintenance were major considerations in the design of this new sharpener. The sharpener is totally enclosed to isolate grinding mist and noise from the operator. An active separation system removes particulates from the coolant. On-board diagnostics are backed up with the local service and readily available parts you expect from Armstrong.
