For Sawmill Edger & Trim Saws
Armstrong’s CNC Topper/Facer

Precision grinding, CNC versatility, and easy to use touchscreen make the Armstrong Topper/Facer the ideal machine for both carbide and Cobalt Chromium Alloy tipped edger and trim saws

Fast and Versatile

The grinding parameters (tooth shape, number of teeth, wheel feed rate, stock removal for each pass, etc.) are easily stored on the PC for a nearly unlimited number of saws. Each saw is ground just the way the head filer prefers. It takes just seconds to load and begin grinding another saw from a set of edger or trim saws. Cobalt Chromium Alloy, carbide, edger, trim, alternating bevel and even variable pitch saws can all be accurately sharpened.

Rugged and Dependable

The 3,000 lbs. (1,350 kg) of machine mass provides the stability while a 1.5 HP (1 kW) motor delivers the power for fast, accurate and dependable grinding even in vibration-prone filing rooms. Technical support and start-up assistance is available from local Stocking Distributor/Service Centers. Spare parts for this American-made machine are readily available.

Safe and Easy to Use

The full color touchscreen shows you just what the grinder is doing. All settings are made on the touchscreen; adjustments are immediately confirmed on this screen so there is no guesswork. The saw, coolant and grinding zone are all fully enclosed for safe, quiet, and clean operation.

A massive 300 lb. chrome base provides
the solid foundation for precise grinding

Armstrong CNC Circular Saw Topper/Facer
FEATURES:
  • Intel Pentium PC control for speed and reliability
  • 4 axis brushless servo system for long life and precision control
  • Touch screen for easy operation
  • Thousands of customized saw tooth geometries can be stored on the hard drive for fast set-ups and consistent grinding
  • Specialty saws with up to 10 teeth in a segment can be sharpened
  • Total control of stock removal, tooth configuration, wheel lift off, and grinding depth and speed
  • Totally enclosed, flood cooled (15 gpm)
  • Coolant filtration system removes particles as small as 5 microns for exceptionally smooth grinding and minimal wear to moving parts
  • Precise saw advancing system travels in exactly the same path as the saw tooth so the feed finger never slides up or down the tooth as the saw is indexed
  • No need to adjust the faceplate for saw thickness. The machine calculates all offsets from the plate thickness and kerf values entered by the operator
  • Grinding wheel motor automatically reverses direction for right and left-hand teeth
