IMPORTANT
FEATURES OF THE NO. 16 SHARPENER
- Even Feeding Qualities
Our sharpened stands at the front and alone, in this respect, as it FEEDS
ABSOLUTELY EVEN.
The grinding wheel comes down and contacts the saw with a smooth, easy movement, touching
each tooth lightly and evenly, just enough to sharpen it, and no more.
- The Enclosed Feature
We have designed our machine so the principal working parts, which constitute the
action of the machine, are completely enclosed, yet easy access to the interior parts is
provided by removable steel doors.
- Saw Clamp
There is a provision for adjusting the tension on the saw clamp so that it holds
the saw properly where clamped in place and means is provided for swinging it out of the
way to permit the saw to be put on and off without any difficulty.
- Cam Rollers
The ordinary type of cam roller, which has caused much trouble in the past, is
replaced on our machine with a high grade ball bearing. The result is a very smooth, easy
running, durable roller that is extremely accurate.
|
- Bearings
Anti-friction bearings are used throughout with adequate provision for proper
sealing to keep out dust and dirt. Ball bearings are provided on the grinding wheel arbor
and they are of ample size to enable extreme precision grinding.
- Setting for Size of Saw
In adjusting is provided with a slideless head for the grinding wheel, mounted on
rockers which are frictionless, having no sliding surfaces to gather grit and quickly wear
loose. It is designed to automatically prevent any side play and provide a substantial
steady support for the grinding wheel.
- Changing the Tooth Outline
Provision is made for quick change from one tooth outline to another without
disturbing the relation of the feed cam and the wheel cam, so that it is convenient to
change from one to the other without making numerous adjustments.
