The Elkins Round-the-World Voyage

March 11, 2000

Pacific Ocean

Well this is our first day, sunny and nice, with a cool breeze.  5 to 15K winds, seas 10' rollers with small chop, boat speed is 3-7. We first tacked West and are now doing close to the rub line. More south 221*.  No boats, no fish - just Dan and I. Very peaceful, can't run the engine except for charging - have to conserve fuel. N20*35.68 W106*07.44 - this is our location.  It is 8:00 pm, we didn't reef so we'll probably have to do it later. There is a cruise ship ahead now. I'm going to bed - Dan will be on first watch. I will watch from 12:00 to 3:00. Till Later,  Sandy
